I finally got around to recording my rendition of The Happy Farmer, a piece that I had learned about two years ago. As I am trying to keep up with my practice, I’m discovering how much more challenging violin learning is becoming with more complicated techniques and pieces. Now that I am developing vibrato, I realize how much I let go of my intonation focus. This resulted in a recording of The Happy Farmer that had several flat C and B notes. So what you will see in the video is my second attempt that had better results. This serves as a reminder on why it is so important to record yourself and realize what has been happening underneath your nose.
Anyway, it’s time to focus on a few things such as my hand frame, and catching those B and C natural notes on key. Good to know…time to go back to basics and fine-tune myself.
