I’m almost there! I finally got around to recording Minuet 3. As always, my tension gets the best of me. I have the same issues as usual: tension, intonation, string crossings and my newest issue of all…vibrato.
Another common thing that happens when recording myself is what I consider “brain farts”. My mind tends to drift and my fingers glitch and play the wrong notes in the middle of a passage. As a result I had to do multiple takes – which is ok for recording, but imagine if this were a live performance!? I will just continue to remind myself to have fun, enjoy the process, and try not to strive for perfection.
