Piece #12 – Etude

At my 2 year mark, I’m barely able to play Etude at full performance speed. To me, that’s seems like a big accomplishment. I cannot emphasize how hard it was to confront reality and record myself playing the song in order to dissect the many imperfections.

Here are some issues that I faced and noticed during and after the recording:

  1. I’m still working out my issues with tension, stress, and self consciousness when performing in front of a camera.
  2. I still keep hitting other open strings while playing certain passages within the piece.
  3. Intonation

I also realized how much more enjoyable it is to play against accompaniment rather than the metronome. Unfortunately, my favorite accompaniment channel (ms. accompanist) has been terminated from YouTube because of copyright claims of some sort. (Sad Face)

Anyway, here’s my performance, not too shabby. I still notice a slight improvement, but of course there’s always room for more.
